Description

Working closely with the Trust, Lathams have just completed the comprehensive restoration and refurbishment of the iconic Park Pavilion. Originally constructed in 1921, the timber clad pavilion, with its distinctive clock tower, was one of the earliest buildings to be built at the pioneering Park created by engineer, philanthropist and inventor Charles Wicksteed.

As well as a major refurbishment of the existing building to create guest services, offices and 'back of house' accommodation, a new extension was added, to include ticketing facilities and reception. Although unlisted, the restoration required a sensitive approach to the building conversion, including the addition of bespoke reception desks and a striking new stair to connect ground and first floors.

Client Reaction

"The restoration is a key part of our vision and £4.5m development plan to ensure the park reaches its full potential."
